The central part of this year program is the OLE2 Job Shadowing Project whereby select students from SAHK secondary schools will step into a hotel’s environment and experience a working life during summer holidays. This Project has been designed in support of the new secondary school curriculum OLE (Other Learning Experiences). We hope that by participating in this Project, students can build up their self-confidence, polish their communication skills, develop their independent and interpersonal skills as well as learn about team work.
During the kick-off ceremony, 6 secondary school students from three SAHK special schools, namely, Ko Fook Iu Memorial School, B.M. Kotewall Memorial School and Jockey Club Elaine Field School signed a Trainee Contract with the hotel group representative. Students were then presented hotel staff name badges by two Guests of Honour: Mr Sui and Mr Lai, as a warm welcome from Empire Hotels. The hotel group would assign students to work in different departments according to their physical conditions and abilities. The Project provides them with precious working and life experiences, enabling them to get well prepared in developing future career.
